Air Source Heat Pump

At Rustic Tubs we aim to think differently. We are one of few companies in the UK offering air source heating as an option on our hot tubs. They are a reasonably priced option and will pay for themselves within 2 years of hot tub use.

What are Air Source Heat Pumps? It is a unit very similar to a small air conditioning unit in reverse. Instead of cooling the air in a room, it takes the heat in the surrounding air and converts it to be able to heat the water in the hot tub.

So why would I choose one? The heater has an average efficiency of 4 times over a standard inline electric heater. In the winter the efficiency drops to maybe 2 or 3 times as efficient, and in the summer can be as much as 5 or 6 times more efficient than an inline heater. Meaning that for every 1kW of power in, it will give an average of 4kW heat output. Therefore using a lot less electricity to heat your tub.

We also provide Inverter Air Source Heat Pumps which are capable of both heating and cooling. This Means you can choose whether to have your tub as a hot tub or as a cold plunge tub.
